Angela is a theatre artist based in Saskatoon. Since graduating from the BFA Acting program at the University of Saskatchewan in 2011, she has worked consistently on professional stages throughout the province.
A singer and classically trained pianist, Angela has a particular love for plays with music. She spent this past summer playing piano and upright bass as Dolly in Tent Meeting at the Station Arts Centre, and most recently appeared (bass in hand) in the world premiere of the new musical Us at Globe Theatre.
Also a fledgling playwright, Angela has several new works in various stages of development. Her short play Bear was recently produced as part of the 2017 Short Cuts Festival. As a member of Persephone Theatre's 16/17 Playwrights' Unit, she began creating Sawtooth Sky, a play adapted from the diaries of English-Canadian photographer Rosemary Gilliat. When she should be writing that script, she procrastinates by working on Spite House and The Obituarists.
Angela is enthusiastic about finding new ways to contribute to and engage with her community. As a co-host of the radio program Mom, I'm a Thespian, she has had the opportunity to interview visiting actors, directors, and playwrights from across Canada, as well as local artists. Mom, I'm a Thespian airs Friday nights at 7pm on CFCR 90.5 fm, and streams live online at cfcr.ca.
